Northeast Student Summit on Hunger and
Homelessness
The Summit will bring together 250 student activists and community
leaders dedicated to impacting hunger and homelessness to share
their experiences and concerns; learn from experts on anti-poverty
issues; participate in skills training and community program development
workshops, and be inspired and challenged by speakers including
Dr. J Larry Brown, Director of the Center for Hunger and Poverty
Research at Brandeis University, Frances Moore Lappe, author of
"Diet for a Small Planet" and "Ten Myths About Hunger",
and Anna Lappe, co-author with Frances of "Hope's Edge: The

18th Annual
Hunger Cleanup
On April 6, 2002, more than 10,000 students and community members
from 125 colleges and universities around the country will pick up
brooms, paint brushes, and hammers to aid community programs as part
of the Annual Hunger Cleanup. Sponsored by the National Student Campaign
Against Hunger and Homelessness, the Cleanup is a national one-day
community service fundraiser which brings students and community members
together to raise money while volunteering. Volunteer projects include
painting shelters, cleaning food pantries, and planting community
gardens. Students organize the event on their campuses with support
from the National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness.
